A glance back at the International Wire and Cable Exhibition - wire 2012- in Düsseldorf

Once again our company is able to look back to its successful participation in the world’s leading trade show for the wire rope and cable industries held in March, 2012 in Düsseldorf.

Our totally redesigned representative stand with its impressive graphically based layout drew in numerous customers from at home and abroad. Central to our exhibits were a Central Strander Type MKZS-To 6x100 with its new bobbin drive and bobbin braking concept and the newly developed Double Twist Bunching Machine Type MSDN 500/7x400, both of which had found buyers before the exhibition took place. A Central Strander is being installed in our company’s technical centre and will be available there to our customers in the future for them to conduct stranding tests.

In the run up to the show, we were able to book a large order for the supply of tubular stranding and cage type stranding machines for the manufacture of steel wire rope for Messrs Wireco of the USA for their factory in Portugal. And, despite the general view that business trends in Europe are downwards, a further project for cable manufacture in Europe having a contract value of almost 8 million Euros is close to final placement. These bring the booking out of the company’s capacity already to last year’s levels and a promising start to 2013 is also anticipated.

The many conversations conducted during the exhibition and the projects discussed enable us to look to the future with confidence.

We should like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all visitors to our stand and all of our customers for their interest in our company’s products. We remain at your disposal for a continuation of discussions and conversations started at "wire 2012" in Düsseldorf. Please contact us for any further information required.

As "wire 2012" finishes, our planning for the next trade show in 2014 in Düsseldorf is already starting.
Before then however, we will be represented at the trade exhibition in Shanghai this year and next year at trade shows in Atlanta, Moscow and Bangkok .

We look forward to seeing you there.

SKET looks back over a successful 2011 and to the future with optimism

SKET Verseilmaschinenbau GmbH is pleased to report the conclusion of yet another successful business year. In comparison with 2010, a substantial increase in turnover was achieved. Not insignificant in this increase were the contributions made by large orders received by the company from customers in Korea and China, Turkey and Germany. One of these large orders from Korea - Project Neptune 2 - is currently nearing its conclusion. Commissioning of the related stranding machines in Korea will soon be completed. We will update you concerning this in due course.

We should like to express our thanks to our customers for the close relations which we have enjoyed with them over the last year and we look forward to the continuation of these relationships.

The transition from 2011 into 2012 was a seamless one, interrupted only briefly by the seasonal festivities. Week 2 of 2012 has already seen the shipping of high speed stranding machines for our customer in Turkey.

The targets set by SKET Verseilmaschinenbau for 2012 are similarly ambitious. A major contribution to the realization of these targets will be the successful fulfilment of the BRIDON project in Great Britain. The manufacture of the machines covered by this contract is already going ahead full steam.

The current order book for 2012 enables us to look to the future with optimism and, in spite of the generally predicted economic downturn, we venture to predict for ourseves a year comparable with 2011.

Our hopes are also based on the positive effects resulting from our industry's major international exhibition "wire 2012". This will take place in March this year, again in Düsseldorf.

It has become traditional for our company to have a stand in Hall 11 in Düsseldorf where our products for the manufacture of electric cable and steel wire are on show to industry experts from around the world. We take this early opportunity to invite our customers and other interested parties to visit us there.
